Falling Out

I’m sorry—I don’t know what to say.

So I’ll just look the other way.

I’ve seemed pre-occupied. A little cold at times.

I’ve got a lot on my mind.

So I’m looking at the floor and I’m moving towards the door

I’ve done all I can do, but it’s just no use.

With all that we’ve been through, I wish it wasn’t true.

We were happier back then. A time I can’t remember when

We shared a bond we never thought would break.

We didn’t think about our days. The decisions that we’d make.

It was just the next step to take.

But we tripped along the way, and now we only stay

Because we’re scared of making more mistakes.

I never should have let it get this far.

We no longer like who we are.
