December 19, 2008
Wow - Here we are, at the end of December already - 2008 feels like it never even happened, although I had a great time watching the time fly by! Lots of gigs, lots of new friends, lots of fun. That's what life is, right? To enjoy what you have, while you have it.
Well, in 2008, I lost things that I perhaps shouldn't have held on to for as long as I did. And I didn't appreciate other things enough to get the chance to hold on to them at all. However, I regret nothing that I did or didn't do this year, so I consider it a GREAT year - I can only hope that 2009 is just as good to me.
I would like to thank anyone who is actually reading this. I appreciate that you care enough to see what ramblings that I might jot down here. I have been REALLY lazy about it, and my New Year's resolution is to up the online productivity. That's where it's at, and that's where I've failed. So...(hopefully) be prepared for more regular postings.
Anyway, that's all I have for today. Happy Holidays to all and have a kickass New Year!

So, it has been a great summer, hasn't it?? Actually, I feel like I've done nothing yet. But, that's a-changin'! Next week begins a weeklong roadtrip to Myrtle Beach. I have never been, but I think that I learned all I need to know for the trip by repeatedly watching "Shag" as a kid. Apparently, it's a happening place. So excited!
Also, I have much love for this next website: Sparkpeople.com - if you haven't heard of it, then you're like I was two weeks ago. It's a free website that tracks your nutrition and fitness. Kinda like weight watchers, I guess, but totally immersive. Being someone who is constantly paying attention to that stuff, it's great that there's a place out there that actually does the stats and computations for you. I'm obsessed, but that's my nature. It's AMAZING how many calories you intake of just liquids!!! And bread!!! OMG - It's sad to know that you can eat a sub sandwich and most of the calories are the roll. Depressing, actually...But, if you're someone who is always trying to watch their health, this site's great. It has a great sense of community and lots of fitness and nutrition info.
Finally, I'm all about this year's Olympics. Normally, I only pay attention to the Winter Games - I'm not really into any of the summer sports. However, I feel that, as I get older, there probably aren't too many of these things left for me to see, so I'm try to appreciate them for their aesthetic value. Furthermore, did you know that you can watch the entire thing online?!?!? LIVE!!! Yes, because it's in China, that means that "Live" means 10pm to 6 am or something like that, but I'm an insomniac so now I have something to occupy my time. Just go here and hit the "live" link on the left. NBC will try to regulate who can watch online by checking your cable provider (doesn't seem too fair to me, since my cable provider isn't included), but you can lie and choose any of them on the list until you're approved. Verizon FIOS is cool to use, just so you know. GO USA!!! And Australia, Finland and Germany (hotties!)

Ok. I promised more regularity and I apparently suck at that. But now that summer vacation is approaching, I really have no excuse. So, it's time to start updating. As always, please take a minute to spread the word, write a review or something nice, so that perhaps the fanbase might grow.
Anyway, on to the fun stuff. I finally got my Slacker Portable player, and I LOVE it! It's great - always new music, always something that I'm interested in. There have been very few times that I didn't care for the artist that got played, and all I had to do is hit the "ban" button and bam! No more Britney! The software was a little glitchy at first, but a firmware upgrade took care of that. I would have prefered something a little more solid as well, since this has a plastic shell, but at least it's light. I highly recommend it.
I'm watching "Mind of Mencia" at the moment. I love this show. I love that he just goes off on everyone.
Gonna watch "The Happening" tonight. I really hope that it doesn't suck, but I am not holding my breath. I liked "The Sixth Sense" and that's about it from M. Night S. Everything else has been pretty pathetic. But, I love Zooey Deschanel and for her sake I am going to drop $10 on what might be a complete crapfest. I will review later this week, along with some other movies.
Time for the random playlist - with requisite drinking game:
1)
"Ana Ng", They Might Be Giants
2) "Rotting Pinata ", Sponge
3) "Perfect World", Liz Phair
4) "You Will. You? Will. You? Will", Bright Eyes
5) "Feeling So Real", Moby

Wow! It has been forever since I've written something here. I'm lazy, I know...I will try to post more regularly. Granted, I have little to say, so most of it will be banter and not worth checking out anyway...But I will do it.
First of all, the business end: Please call WNTI and request songs. They have the CD and they will play it if you call - the DJs are nice and will be happy to accomodate you -
so call (908) 852-4545 and request a song!
Now onto the more fun stuff. I've been busying buying things! First of all, I destroyed my laptop, so I bought a new Gateway Tablet PC. It rocks!!! It's so nice to do everything without the use of a mouse and keyboard! It's fun to play mouse-based video games too. Love it!!!
I also just bought the Slacker.com portable radio!!!! Sooooo excited!!! If you've yet to hear about Slacker.com, go!! It's an AWESOME internet radio site - fully customizable. And now, for free, you can take it with you anywhere!!!! I will review it fully when I get it in a day or two...
Ok, time for the IPod shuffle game (soon to be Slacker-shuffle!)
1)
"Cherub Rock", Smashing Pumpkins
2) "Scenes from a Vinyl Recliner", Toad the Wet Sprocket
3) "Stop Whispering", Radiohead
4) "Blood in the Boardroom", Ani Difranco
5) "One Step Closer", U2
All in all, I'm pretty proud of this list!
Yay, for once!

Go to OURSTAGE.COM!!!!! Please!! Here's the deal...you listen to two tracks. You vote for the one you like better. The top tracks get prizes, including money and fame. Now, I'm not in this for either thing, but I certainly wouldn't shun a healthy record deal. Anyway, I have had 3 songs in the top ten over the past 3 months..."Drift" is at # 2 today... "Last Thing on your mind" hit #1 a couple days too early, and then didn't get any last minute support...so PLEASE go help out!!! tell others to!!!
My Ipod Shuffle game results for this week (nothing to get embarrassed about this time!): 1. "One Step Closer", U2 2. "mo longer now", Sensefield 3. "Is it Really So Strange?", The Smiths 4. "Saturday", Yo La Tengo 5. "Napoleon", Ani Difranco
For this week's "exciting link", I am giving you the survey "How many 5 year olds can you take in a fight?" yes, just like it says...I can take on 17!! beat that!

Hello! I'd like to thanks everyone for their nice comments about the CD - I've heard many good things! So, thanks you - Now, the best thing you could do is go to your favorite music site and post a review - That way more people might want to hear it. Or, tell your friends about it and bring them to a show! There are a lot of them starting to pile up - shows, that is. I'm also looking into getting an electric band together again, so we'll see what happens with that. It's the endless search for a bass player....always the bass player!
Anyway, I figured that I'd put up a couple of my favorite time-wasters here, since I have yet to get bored with them. Maybe someone else will find them interesting.
Jackson Pollock painting
With the swipe of your mouse you can paint like the master
The Blue Ball Machine
just watch it for a while...
Awesome Picture Montage
Ok, the first picture is a little creepy, but click on his face and you'll spend a long time checking out the rest of them...
The Amazing Falling Sand Game
So much fun :)

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope that this year brings good things to those who deserve it - especially those who saw 2007 as less than wonderful. I must admit that 2007 was very kind to me. Not only did the CD get finished, but I made a lot of new friends and saw a lot of good concerts. I can't even remember them all, but I would definitely place the Bamboozle show, Motioncity/Mae, and Chick Corea at the top of the list. Also getting to take trips to Boston, Maryland (:P), and Cape Cod was fun.
I'm looking forward to 2008 - Trips back to Cape Cod, Atlantic City, and who knows where else! And of course, lots of music and shows...The Met Opera, Daily Show screening, and Sherwood (GO LISTEN TO THEM!! THEY ARE GREAT) in March....yes, good things for 2008.
So, Happy New Year. Enjoy yourself and your time here on this spinning rock. You don't get a hell of a lot of it, so stop worrying about what the future holds and start enjoying what's right in front of you.

Ok, things have been busy this month - Nothing that you'd notice, but really...December has been hectic! CD Baby is just about finished with encoding my new page and DigStation is ready to go - within another month or so, all of the major online stores will be carrying the CD - So, if you like what you hear, please spread the word and get your friends to buy stuff, or to go to a show!
Now, for my link to the week to visit, you should go to FreeRice - It is a site that donates rice to 3rd world countries - All you need to do is answer vocab questions. For every one you get correct, they send rice - That's it - no signing up or anything. Do your part - and see how dumb you've gotten!

Welcome to the new webpage! I hope that it's easy enough to get around and everything works right on your browser. If it doesn't, please contact me and let me know what needs to be fixed.
This is my online journal, or log, if you prefer. I am going to put up bits of randomness. Reviews of CDs or songs or movies. Maybe videogames or interesting websites. Maybe just rant or babble about something. Just seems like something interesting to do. If anyone wants me to give a shout-out to someone or something, let me know...
