Happy "Day Before the World is Going to End" !
So, according to a lot of crackpots, we're all going to die tomorrow. So, if you catch this message tonight, it's been fun and I hope to catch you all floating in the cosmos somewhere.
It was brought to my attention today that I haven't updated this site in a year. That's not true - it's been six months! But, I am going to do my best effort to update this regularly now - The plan is to enter into my calendar a regular reminder to do it. Then it will get done! In theory...
So, Chasing June's debut release has received good buzz - check it out at various online locations or at our site: www.ChasingJune.com
Also, we're in a movie! It's called "Creature" and it releases on Sept. 9th. The official trailer has just been released and I'm singing on it - That's right - Theaters all over the country are about to pump my voice through Super Dolby onto unsuspecting movie-goers. AWESOME.
As for my solo CD - Well....it's been on the back burner since Chasing June took over my life, and I have been toying with the idea of re-recording much of it now that I'm in a different place in life. So, I don't have much news for you there. It's gonna be a while. But another Chasing June CD will definitely be working it's way into the near future.
Okay - again, so sorry for the long silence - it's only because I've been so un-silent on the production side of life.
Come say hi at a show or something!
December 3, 2010
:) I am so sorry!
I know - it's been forever. Almost a year - It seems like it went by in only months - lol - but a lot has happened. Most of it great, so at least I have good excuses for forgetting to write.
As for my 4th CD "Beautiful Mess", it's on the back-burner right now. It's not scrapped - oh, hell no! But, I've been sidetracked with a more pressing activity, and that is my band - Chasing June.
Chasing June just finished our first CD - and it's being duplicated as I type in a cute little CD plant in South Jersey. Expect it in early January! We've also been playing, playing, playing! You can find shows in the "tour" section of this site. It's been a lot of fun and I think we have something special. So, my apologies for being slow with this site - you can always find VERY current info at ChasingJune.com.
Big shows ahead! Please come support us! We like to feel the love :)

Hello!
Well, it's been the typical 4 to 5 months, so I should probably update you on everything that has been happening!
A lot, actually...
In terms, of MY CD news, the drums are done for the new CD - The bass is halfway there. And I am chomping at the bit to get started on guitars. I think that this CD is going to be great - It's emotional and more like the first CD. But, with more musical skill than I used to possess. I think you'll be happy with it!
On a more immediate (and exciting) note, I am honored to announce that my pal Steve Coleman and I have put together an AWESOME band called Chasing June!!! We are a duo of intensely harmonic proportions - check out our website and feel free to drop a line - Our debut show is February 25th, 2010. Please come out to Kroghs and show us some love!
Alright, I have some work to do - later ~

Yup - delinquent as usual...
I'm sorry (as usual) for being so late, but I've been so busy!!! I have a new side project that you will hear about some day - All I can tell you is that it's awesome. I've also been working on an animation for my little musical character Dotti. That's done, and I'll share it soon. And, today .... WE ARE IN THE STUDIO!!!!! Whooohoooo!!!!!! The awesome LEO LABARGE (remember that name folks!) is recording drums for the new CD....He's laying down the tracks as I type, and OMG, it's awesome!!!! I'm so excited!! And Ben Earl is is doing an awesome job of engineering it all.. Thanks Ben :)
I'll keep you informed! We'll see what happens!
So, I have something to rant about - And I'm going to rant here - I'm also going to go rant on my little blogspot, and probably everywhere else that I can rant - it's about a type of person that I'm am going to call the "concert sludge". If someone has a better term, please let me know! It's that person who oozes into your personal space during a concert and doesn't seem to realize, or care. Here's my latest experience with this loathsome creature.
So, yesterday I attended the Paramore concert in Montclair. Paramore was incredibe, by the way. Hailey Williams is awesome in every way. Anyway, my friend and I arrived early and staked our claim along the 2nd tier of the audience. As we were hanging out, two rather colorful and obnoxious women parked themselves next to me. The club was not crowded at all yet. Within about 15 minutes the one annoying wench had drifted into me. I hadn't moved an inch - Once I park myself, I try not to move because I don't want to affect the view of the people behind me (I'm super considerate!) So, a normal person might go "Oh, I just moved into someone - so sorry" and move back...but no!!! The Sludge stays there. After about an hour, I had magically moved over a foot - without moving my feet! And, she kept touching me!! And didn't seem to notice - granted, she packed about 7 or 8 drinks into her. And she was loud. And stupid. I think that probably most concert Sludges are. Anyway, her intrusive behavior tainted what was otherwise an amazing concert. And Paper Route, the opener, was great too - check them out!!!
Alright, that's it for today - gotta get back to the session! Bye!

Oh my! Summer's almost over :/
However, all is not that bad. With the end of the summer comes the end of stifling humidity. The end of wondering how long my paycheckless bank account will hold out. The end of endless video games and movies...oh wait, I like that...
Anyway, I did get some stuff done. We've added a couple new venues to play at: The Blairstown Farmers' Market, and the SpringBoard Shoppes. Both are nice places with friendly people in attendance. Stop by some time!
By the way! I now have a Twitter account - follow me at Judy_Aron....make sure that you put the underscore in...or you get a very different Judy Aron.
Also, all scratch tracks have been recorded for the CD, which means that now it's time to start recording for real. I'll post Twitter updates on what's up with that. And when I add a Youtube video...yes, yes, I am reluctantly shooting them too...not super-cool ultraproduced ones that I want to make, but it's something....
Anyway, gotta go. Playing with the Twitter account and editing the site a little... bye!

Happy Summer!
Yup...It's been a while - like always, I tend to put off doing the things that I'm supposed to do in favor of things that are more fun - but, hey, I'm not alone there, am I? :) I know. This blog entry is like...2 months late...sorry!
Anyway, things are happening, and I felt that I should post something to let you all know. So...here it is....I AM RECORDING!!! Yes, it's true. I started on Monday - 12 songs. I'm dong this CD slightly different - I think. I am planning on a double - 1/2 acoustic bare-bones, 1/2 full-out produced. The reason is this: I'm torn on how to do this one. Many people tell me that they like my songs stripped down and acoustic, but many also say that they like the full production too. And, since I can't decide which way to go with these songs, I'm going to do both.
So, I'm starting. When I'll be finished...who knows!? Stay posted...
Time for my favorite game: The Ipod shuffle game! Let's see what this "month's" spin turns out:
1) "Don't Hate Me" - The Get Up Kids
2) "Turn the Other Way" - Avenged Sevenfold
3) "Collapse" - Sparta
4) "Summer Cauldron" - XTC
5) "Show Me" - Soundgarden
Whoa - completely different turn-out than normal! Interesting....
See ya!

Hello again!
So, I wish I had something interesting or clever to write today, but all I have is a list of "to do's" in my head that you really don't care about. Perhaps you are like me: You find yourself with a free day - no real responsibilities, nothing pressing. So, you make a list of things that you have to do. Now, my list is currently 9 things long - This post included....now, that's a chort list for me. You settle down to start tackling the list when ..."wham!" something disrupts your workflow and you can totally sidetracked, hence destroying all chances of working on the list.
Today, that thing was my DVR. I was all set to work, and I decided to melt down the "Good Eats" episodes that were still on the DVR while working. Two things in one, if you will...But, I go to plug the gear in, and I notice that the screen is flickering in a way that I've never noticed before...So, I spent a good half hour trying to diagnose what was wrong, and I still don't know...I'm avoiding it by watching Netflix on my Xbox...Swingers, in fact. I don't think that I've ever seen it. If I did, I don't remember anything about it :) It's okay - nothing as earth-shattering as people have led me to believe.
Alright, back to the to-do list. I still have tons of work to do for school, but I am taking a break to do stuff for myself. Granted, not NEARLY enough. But, I've updtaed this page, and the calendar - I'm hoping to grab a couple more gigs for the summer. But, mostly, I'll be recording. That's right!! RECORDING, baby! Stay tuned!
Finally, the Ipod Shuffle game: I love this game :)
1) "Do You Remember" - The Summer Obsession
2) "Ghost Train" - Counting Crows
3) "Home" - Minnie Driver
4) "In Liverpool" - Suzanne Vega
5) "Wish I May" - Ani Difranco
Results: Not bad - only 4 shots-worth :)
Later!
April 20, 2009
OMG - My new favorite show...Breaking Bad. I just watched the most gruesome scene involving a severed head and a turtle. And it got even better from there! This show rocks. I love Bryan Cranston. He does such a great job as guy with nothing left to lose. You should see it!
On the music front, the gig load is lightening, but that doesn't mean that the music is stopping. In fact, I have almost finished writing the 4th CD - a couple more lyrics here and there. Expect 12 songs out sometime next year. LOL! Okay, in two years, but I'll post some along the way...
Alright, this is a quick one, cuz I'm tired and it's late....later!
April 4, 2009
Ok - I admit it, and I feel guilty about it. I haven't posted in 2 months. Total violation of my New Year's Resolution. Of course, I also haven't played an Open Mic since I got sick in February. Again, bad bad Judy. So, this week is the week to remedy that. I will be going to an open mic either Wednesday (at Henessey's) or Thursday (at Mugs). And, here I am blogging away, although I just ate lasagna and feel quite ill, so I am going to keep it brief. Might have to crawl into a ball of pain and misery
So, it has been a busy couple months! Thanks to the people who showed up to the Exchange. It was a good time! We had fun and made good money for the school - Video will be posted soon enough.
I am getting close to the completion of CD#4, still untitled and unfocused. Hey! That's a good title right there :) Anyway, we're looking at a return to CD#1's form. More acoustic flavored. Kind of how Toad the Wet Sprocket would alternate between acoustic and electric albums. Totally reinventing their sound along the way. That's the plan for CD#4...a reinvention and revisiting at the same time.
ok - nauseous...so nauseous. No Ipod shuffle this week - Like you care! Til next time...

First of all, I would like to thank the officer from Sparta who let me off the hook yesterday. I don’t know his name, but he had blonde hair, blue eyes and was very nice. So, if for some odd reason you are reading this, officer, thank you very much! I will be more careful in Sparta.
Next, I would like to rant for a second about audience participation. Now, I understand that most people go to bars to drink - To hang out with friends and drink. They aren’t there to listen to the entertainment 95% of the time. I understand that. I do it too. But, seriously, it is REALLY rude to not even acknowledge that a live person has just played a song. It is rude, and it is really depressing as an artist to play your guts out and then have no one even half-heartedly golf-clap a response. It doesn’t take much effort, people. You hear that there’s a dip in the volume level, and “Oh, I think a song is over”…(clap clap clap – resume talking loudly over music). Then, the musicians don’t get discouraged or angry and start bitching over the microphone as to how disturbing it is that no one is being polite. Everyone’s always complaining about the death of live music, but at the same time, no one seems to care about the live music that is out there right in front of them.. Ok…I’ll stop bitching now. It just bothers me.
So! Do you have your “Five”? If you have ever watched Friends, then you know what the Five is. Well, some of my friends and I decided to share our Fives, complete with evidence to support them. Now, either you find this hilarious or pathetic. I find it to be the former. And, since all 4 of you reading this blog probably stopped reading during the last paragraph, I figured that I’d share my current Five. Why not? I think I chose well. I’m not embarrassed to list ‘em…So, my Five are: 1) Josh Holloway, 2) Eric Dane, 3) Gale Harold, 4) Johnny Depp, and 5) Brad Pitt…If anyone needs me to justify these choices, please inquire…
Onto business…Okay. I have made it to TWO open mics now, and I feel confident that I’ll be making it to more. But, I would like to state that I love Hennesey’s in Morristown. Billy the Bartender is very nice and I’ve made a new friend Sam who runs the open mic at Krogh’s (plug plug). He also plays some great cover songs, including the awesome “Untouchable Face”. Go Sam!
Finally, here is my Ipod Shuffle list of the week: 1) "Caravan of Love", The Housemartins, 2) "Distraction" - Angels and Airwaves - 3) "Pass the Peas" - Maceo Parker - 4)"Garden of Eden", Guns 'n Roses- and 5) "Nice Dream", Radiohead. By games standards, I would have been tanked on this group of songs! Lol ... Talk to y'all soon!
January 17, 2009
Why, Hello Everyone! I hope that 2009 has started out well for y'all. I've had a lovely time. I would like to first state that I have been following my resolutions so far. I have attended one open mic (it's a start!) picked up a gig, made some new musician contacts and I've worked on some internet enterprises. Most noticeably, I have opened up a ReverbNation account. Please go visit it and become a fan...Or, if you have a Myspace or Facebook account, click on the "My Band" tabs and become a fan there. That way you will be alerted to gigs and notices. Actually, if I figure this thing out, I'll have it on my main page soon enough!
Sooo....I played a gig yesterday at Kroghs'. It's one of my favorite places to play - Food is great - Drinks are great - The wait staff are very friendly. And, sometimes there are some interesting characters at the bar to interact with. Yesterday was one of those days. During intermission, a fellow named Tom asked if I knew the Eagles Fight Song...now, being a somewhat proud Cowboys fan, I said "Hell no!". But, I did invite him to come up and sing it, which he did - much to the chagrin of what was mostly a disgruntled Giants crowd. It was rather fun, because I hate both teams. I will have to start learning fight songs for future gigs!
Anyway, I am going to check out for now. Here is this blog's Ipod Shuffle selections. If I were playing the Ipod Shuffle Drinking Game, I'd barely have had to chug! maybe next time... :) J

December 31, 2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR, Everybody! I hope that everyone's jumping head-first into 2009. I plan to. Which will hopefully be a direct result of my resolutions! So, without further adieu, here are my resolutions:
1) Make more of an online presence for myself
2) Play out more, and
3) finish writing the new CD
Now, being a realistic person, I know that most resolutions never get fulfilled. It's human nature. so, here's a more realistic plan for 2009:
1) Play a lot of video games
2) Watch a lot of movies and TV, and
3) Gain 5-10 pounds and 365 days
So there you have it...my resolutions for 2009. I hope that everyone else has a merry new year and gets their resolutions sorted out - peace!
December 19, 2008
Wow - Here we are, at the end of December already - 2008 feels like it never even happened, although I had a great time watching the time fly by! Lots of gigs, lots of new friends, lots of fun. That's what life is, right? To enjoy what you have, while you have it.
Well, in 2008, I lost things that I perhaps shouldn't have held on to for as long as I did. And I didn't appreciate other things enough to get the chance to hold on to them at all. However, I regret nothing that I did or didn't do this year, so I consider it a GREAT year - I can only hope that 2009 is just as good to me.
I would like to thank anyone who is actually reading this. I appreciate that you care enough to see what ramblings that I might jot down here. I have been REALLY lazy about it, and my New Year's resolution is to up the online productivity. That's where it's at, and that's where I've failed. So...(hopefully) be prepared for more regular postings.
Anyway, that's all I have for today. Happy Holidays to all and have a kickass New Year!
